December 9th – According to a CNN local time report on the 8th, Federal District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan officially withdrew the previous criminal charges against Trump’s former national security assistant Michael Flynn.
Trump then thanked him on Twitter.
According to the report, although Sullivan dismissed the charges against Flynn, he criticized Trump’s amnesty to Flynn in his opinion, pointing out that the amnesty does not mean Flynn’s innocence.
“In fact, the Supreme Court’s recognition of the amnesty implies the recognition of Flynn’s crime”. Flynn was twice accused of lying to the FBI in 2017 to conceal contact with the then Russian ambassador to the United States.
On the 8th, Trump thanked Sullivan on Twitter and congratulated Flynn.
The formal withdrawal of Flynn’s case ended Flynn’s three-year judicial proceedings.
