December 2nd – Court records released by the U.S. federal court on the 1st local time show that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating a potential criminal plan to provide funds to the White House or relevant political committees in exchange for the president’s pardon.

Comprehensive CNN and Capitol Hill reported on the 1st that court records released by the District Court for the District of Washington, D.C. showed that the investigation by the Department of Justice involved two people whose names had been modified in the court records, who acted as lobbyists in an improper way to seek pardon for another undisclosed person. It is reported that in this plan, this person provided “a large amount of political contributions in exchange for presidential pardon or probation”. It is not clear who the pardon involves and where the bribe will go. At present, the White House has not commented on this.

According to the New York Times, CNN and other media reports, some sources revealed that his colleagues of current US President Trump are seeking pardon from him and hope to find it before Trump leaves office. The list of people who preempted to request pardon from prosecution includes Trump’s personal lawyer Giuliani. However, Giuliani posted on social media on Tuesday (1st) local time that “The New York Times is lying again” and denied that he had talked to anyone in the White House about pardoning him.
