November 30, local time, Scott Atlas, a long-controversial advisory member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, has resigned from the Trump administration. CNN said that the news came from a person who cooperated with the working group.
Another source close to the working group said Atlas’ departure was “won the news” because his controversial theory would no longer affect the United States.
According to U.S. media reports, Atlas, who is trusted by Trump, has been in opposition to American health experts, including Anthony Fauci, and his remarks are trying to cover up the harm of the novel coronavirus, including falsely saying that the novel coronavirus poses little risk to young people.
He also advocated the theory of “herd immunity” and said that isolation and blockade were meaningless, which has also been criticized by experts from all sides.
So far, the White House has not officially responded to this matter.
