The U.S. Congress will meet on the 6th local time to officially count and confirm the voting results of the 2020 presidential election. Several media reports that there will be large-scale protests during this period.

According to the New York Times on the 5th, hundreds of Trump supporters, including allies who have been amnestyed by Trump, have arrived in Washington on the 5th local time and have participated in two rallies called “Save America” and “Stop theft”.

According to the report, the gathering on that day was “relatively moderate”. It is reported that many people who participated in the rally on that day did not wear masks.

Trump has announced on Twitter that Washington will hold a “large protest rally” at 11 a.m. local time on January 6.

A related person also said that Trump will address supporters on the oval lawn on the south side of the White House on January 6.

The Washington Post reported that a permit issued by the National Park Service showed that up to 30,000 people were allowed to participate in the rally.

It is reported that the local government has now strengthened security measures and warned people to avoid potential inciters of violence.

The local police also increased the police force around the Capitol and encouraged members of Congress to arrive early and go to the Capitol through underground passages from the office to avoid contact with protesters outdoors.

According to previous reports, Washington city officials had previously warned Trump supporters not to carry guns when attending rallies.

At present, the relevant authorities have gathered hundreds of members of the National Guard, which will help maintain order on the scene.
