January 19th – Trump issued an executive order lifting travel restrictions on Brazil and most parts of Europe, which will take effect from January 26.
Subsequently, Jayne Pusaki, the new White House press secretary nominated by Biden team, tweeted that as the coronavirus pandemic worsened and more infectious variant coronaviruses appeared around the world, it was not the time to lift international travel restrictions.
Pushaki said that Biden’s new administration does not intend to lift these restrictions on January 26. In fact, they plan to further strengthen public health measures related to international travel.
