Tropical storms are threatening tornadoes in several southeastern U.S. states

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning on May 3 local time, due to severe weather brought by the storm, the Bureau of Meteorology in central and eastern Georgia, central South Carolina and south-central North Carolina have issued a tornado warning, the current warning will continue until 19:00 EST on the 3rd.

Flood warnings have also been issued for parts of northern Georgia, including Atlanta, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. Atlanta Mayor Kesha Lance Burtons shared photos on social media Wednesday of the destruction of trees and buildings in her community and called for safety.
