The Elysee Palace of the French President and the French Ministry of Defense issued an announcement on the evening of the 28th that three French soldiers were killed in the attack in Mali on the morning of the 28th local time.

At that time, the three were on a counter-terrorism mission in Humboli, southern Mali. Their armored vehicles were attacked by improvised explosive devices, and all three were not spared.

According to the announcement, the three soldiers belong to the 1st “Hunter” Armored Regiment under the 7th Armoured Brigade of the French Army.

According to the French Ministry of Defense, the force has high mobility and strong firepower due to its equipping with Leclerc tanks and light armored vehicles.

The proclamation also said that French President Macron used this to reaffirm France’s determination to continue to combat terrorism.

France launched Operation Crescent Dune in August 2014. Under the framework of this operation, France sent about 4,000 soldiers to the Sahel region of Africa to cooperate with multinational forces in the region.
