The watch was given away by former U.S. President Woodrow Wilson and worth nearly $27,000.

According to CNN, London police said at a press conference on the 15th that a man entered the antique shop in Pierrepont Arcade in Islington, north London, saying that he wanted to buy a vase.

After that, he wanted to Pay with a credit card, but failed. Police believe that the man opened the display cabinet and stole the pocket watch when the clerk put the vase back.

Police released pocket watches and photos of suspects. Officer Joshua Brown said that the owner of the pocket watch was very sad.

The item was handed down from their ancestors to generation, and hoped that the thief could return it as soon as possible.

Wilson served as the 28th President of the United States from 1913 to 1921.
