US officials revealed that in the early morning of the 31st, the SEAL Team 6 carried out a hostage rescue operation in Nigeria, West Africa. SEAL members killed several kidnappers and successfully rescued the 27-year-old American hostage Philip.

It is understood that Walton was kidnapped in Niger earlier this week, and Niger’s south borders Nigeria.
According to US media, the SEAL Team Six was selected to perform this operation because they are in charge of West Africa.
U.S. Department of Defense spokesperson Jonathan Hoffman issued a statement saying: “The U.S. military carried out a hostage rescue operation in northern Nigeria in the early morning of October 31, and rescued a U.S. citizen who was taken hostage by a group of armed men.
American citizens are safe. No US military personnel were injured in this operation.”
U.S. President Trump also tweeted to praise this action. Trump said: “Our elite special forces have achieved a major victory today. Details will be released later.”
