The United States will return to the United Nations Human Rights Council

February 8th – The Associated Press quoted U.S. officials on the 7th as saying that the Biden administration will rejoin the United Nations Human Rights Council and once again overthrow a foreign policy under the Trump administration.

In June 2018, the United States announced its withdrawal on the grounds that the United Nations Human Rights Council had “bias” against Israel and “inability to effectively protect human rights”.

United Nations Secretary-General Guterres said at that time that he regretted the decision of the United States.
