The UK will implement mandatory quarantine measures from February 15th.

According to British media reports on the evening of February 4 local time, from February 15, all British nationals and residents returning to the United Kingdom from high-risk areas of COVID-19 must be quarantined in government-approved hotels for 10 days.

In an interview with the BBC, British Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said that the government “aims” to implement a new mandatory immigration quarantine plan on February 15, which applies to 30 countries and regions on the high-risk “red list”, including several South America and Africa, where coronavirus variants have recently been discovered.

It is reported that airports considering setting up quarantine hotels include London Heathrow Airport, London Gatwick Airport, London City Airport, and airports in Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and other places.

The hotel is required to provide accommodation for more than 1,000 passengers every day and guard by security personnel, while passengers need to be quarantined in the hotel room for 10 days.
