According to US media reports, the White House plans to hold up to 20 indoor gatherings during the traditional American holiday at the end of December. On the evening of December 1, the White House has already held an indoor event. President Trump made a brief appearance, and some of the invitees to the event did not wear masks.
On December 2, Melania Trump’s assistant Stephanie Grisham stated in a statement that the White House will celebrate the holiday in the “safest environment possible” and “encourage” guests to maintain social distance.
White House press secretary Kelly McKenney denied any concerns about the rally. She told reporters, “If people can take to the streets to rob, burn down buildings, and protest, then people can also celebrate the holiday.”
