December 15th, the Presidential Inaugural Committee released preliminary details of Biden’s inauguration ceremony early next year.

The committee said that due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the inauguration ceremony It will be simplified, the scope of activities will be “extremely limited”, and the tradition of marches after the inauguration in previous years will also need to be “reconsidered”.

In addition, the committee urged the public to “avoid any travel and participate in in inaugural activities at home” when President-elect Joe Biden was sworn in.

The Presidential Inaugural Committee hired Dr. David Kessler, the former Director of the Food and Drug Administration, as the chief medical adviser, and said that it would also consult other medical experts to advise on the epidemic prevention and health plan for the presidential inauguration and related celebrations.

Biden said in the summer that he did not want to wear a mask to the inauguration, and according to his aides, he still wants to do so. But the inaugural committee determined that all people will be required to abide by the epidemic prevention guidelines of wearing masks and social distancing.
