The U.S. military tests hypersonic missiles again

December 24th. Lockheed Martin and the United States Air Force have just conducted a hypersonic missile test. The U.S. military is getting closer and closer to the deployment of powerful and functional hypersonic missiles.

According to the report, defense contractor Lockheed Martin and the United States Air Force announced the successful test of an aerial-launched rapid reaction weapon (ARRW) test bomb carried by Cold War B-52H Stratospheric Fortress bombers.

On December 19, the hypersonic weapon platform was tested at Edwards Air Force Base, California.

This is the sixth test of ARRW.

According to a Lockheed-Martin spokesman, these tests were conducted to obtain more environmental data on the missile and its subsystems.

“Missiles are equipped with tactical hardware designed to collect thermal, mechanical and digital data from flying test rounds through telemetry signals and airborne data recorders,” the spokesperson told Bimonthly National Interest via email.

According to the report, the weapon is scheduled to go into production next year.

It will be the first hypersonic missile developed and deployed by the U.S. military. This capability can provide the United States with an extraterrestrial strike capability.

ARRW is an aerial-launched boost-glide hypersonic weapon, which enables it to accelerate with rockets in the initial stage and then glide to the target with hypersonic non-powered.

In addition to faster speed, this missile is also extremely mobile, which makes it difficult for opponents to cope with. In addition, hypersonic missiles are very fast and powerful. They can cause damage through pure “kinetic energy” strikes without even explosives.
