December 19th – The Washington Post said on the 19th that the Trump administration has notified Congress of its intention to close the last two remaining U.S. consulates in Russia.

The U.S. State Department informed members last week that it would permanently close the U.S. consulate in the Russian Far East city of Vladivostok and temporarily suspend the operation of the consulate in Yekaterinburg east of Mount Urals.

The notice was submitted to Congress on December 10.
