February 11 – Due to the shortage of coronavirus vaccine supply, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced on Wednesday (10th) local time that the city will close five vaccination centers for at least two days from Friday (12th).

According to the Los Angeles Times, Jasiti said that after the first batch of Modena vaccines were exhausted, the city will temporarily close five coronavirus vaccination centers that provide drive-through services to citizens, including Dodger Stadium, the largest vaccination site.

The closure will last until at least this Saturday (13th).

Jassiti described the city of Los Angeles as “unbalanced” and “unpredictable” vaccine supply.

He said that the city received only 16,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine this week, a certain gap between 90,000 doses and 29,000 doses received last week and the previous week, respectively.

“Everyone who has been given the first dose of Modena needs a second dose.” “To date, the city of Los Angeles has had 293,252 doses of vaccines, with a vaccine utilization rate of 98%,” Jasiti said.

Only a stable supply of vaccines can meet the current demand.

Despite the closure of vaccination centers that provide drive-through services to citizens, the city of Los Angeles will continue to open mobile vaccination clinics.

The Los Angeles Times said that the city’s mobile vaccination clinics have been sent to the southern region due to the high proportion of COVID-19 infection and death rates in the southern region.
