The secretary of the Russian Security Council said the United States had left a mess for Afghans

In an interview with Russian media outlet Kommersant, Russian Federal Security Council Secretary Patrushev said that after the withdrawal from Afghanistan, the United States had left Afghans with only a mess, putting the country’s development back decades, Russian satellite news agency reported.

Nearly 20 years after the start of the war in Afghanistan, a whole generation of Afghans grew up without fear, Patrushev said. Over the past two decades, more than 40,000 Afghan civilians have lost their lives as a result of war, which is due to U.S. interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

For the United States, many American arms dealers and private contractors are profiting from the war, and for them, the war in Afghanistan has long been a gold mine for their wealth.

Mr Patrushev said the US had kept its mouth shut on so-called “missions” such as fighting terrorism, curbing drug trafficking and training Afghan security forces in Afghanistan.

In fact, in the nearly 20 years since the U.S. occupation of Afghanistan, the number of terrorist attacks in Afghanistan has multiplied, and terrorist organizations such as al-Qaida, extremist groups and the East Iraq Movement have moved freely across Afghan territory, using Afghanistan as a base of activity and infiltrating neighboring countries such as China and Iran.

Instead of cracking down on drug trafficking, the United States has implemented a project to establish a global drug lab and increase opiate production more than 40 times that of the past. As for the Afghan security forces, the U.S. has spent a lot of money on them, but not on Afghanistan’s infrastructure and private enterprises.

In response, Patrushev concluded that the United States has left ordinary Afghans with a mess and that the country’s development has been regressed for decades.
