According to a press release of the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh on December 18, in order to prevent the infection of COVID-19, the reopening date of all educational institutions in Bangladesh has been postponed to January 16, 2021.
On March 8 this year, the Bangladeshi government announced the first confirmed case of COVID-19. All educational institutions in the country have been closed since March 17.
The prolonged closure of schools has had a great impact on 40 million students in the country. The Bangladeshi government announced that this year’s primary and junior high school graduation examinations will be cancelled, so that students do not need to take the annual examination of the school to upgrade.
According to the statistics of the General Directorate of Health Services of Bangladesh, as of December 18, a total of 4965 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, 7192 have been recorded, and 431,590 have been cured.
