The protest movement in Lebanon continues. Overseas students face difficulties in life.

According to local media reports, Prime Minister Diab of Lebanon’s caretaker government met with representatives of the families of overseas students on the 8th local time.

The delegation said that at present, international students are unable to obtain remittances in US dollars and face difficulties in their academic life. The next step for the families will continue street protests and defend their legitimate rights through legal channels.

Diab expressed his willingness to support Lebanese international students within his mandate.

On the 8th, the Lebanese Banking Association issued a statement saying that it was afraid of the current anti-banking movement. The bank promised and always safeguarded the rights and interests of depositors. Once the government returned the loans obtained from the central bank, the bank could return the deposit to the depositor.

According to local media reports on April 2, the finance minister of Lebanon’s caretaker government, Wazni, said recently that the country’s foreign exchange reserves are currently only 15.8 billion US dollars.
