Strengthening cooperation in the security field has become the main content of this meeting.
According to reports, Rahmon and MacKenzie discussed practical issues such as maintaining regional peace and stability and responding to global security threats and challenges, and exchanged views on the situation in neighboring Afghanistan and the peace talks process. Rahmon emphasized that Tajikistan pays great attention to the development process of Afghanistan and has always supported the efforts of the Afghan government to achieve lasting peace and stability in the country.
During the talks, both sides expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation in other areas to jointly respond to various risks and challenges, especially combating terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and other forms of transnational crime.
