Algerian President Teben made a televised speech on the evening of February 18 local time, deciding to dissolve the National Assembly and hold parliamentary elections within three months.
In his speech, he also said that the cabinet would be restructured within 48 hours to replace several German unmatched ministers.
He also decided to pardon nearly 60 political prisoners who were already serving sentences or had not yet been sentenced, so that they could reunite with their families as soon as possible.
