22 local time, the Pakistani Taliban movement (Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan) claimed responsibility for the bombing of the Hotel Serena. A spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban movement said: “Our suicide bombers used explosives from cars in the hotel to carry out the explosion. ”
But according to preliminary police investigations, the explosive device was installed in a car parked in the hotel parking area. After the explosion, many vehicles caught fire and seven cars were burned down.
Glass windows of nearby provincial councils, high courts and other buildings were smashed as a result of the blast.
