The oldest Republican member of the U.S. Senate Tests Positive for Coronavirus On the afternoon of November 17, the 87-year-old Senator Chuck Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and Republican of Iowa, announced in a tweet that he tested positive for coronavirus nucleic acid. 

Grassley is currently the oldest Republican senator in the U.S. Senate.

Grassley said in the statement that he is currently not unwell, but will follow the doctor’s requirements and the CDC’s guidelines for self-isolation.

According to reports, Grassley recently chaired a meeting in the Senate and took off his mask during his speech, which made it possible for the senators who participated in the meeting and contacted Grassley to contract Coronavirus.
