November 16 According to Singapore’s report, on the 16th local time, Malaysia’s Senior Minister of Defense Ismail Sabiri said that foreign employees in factories and construction sites have been infected with Coronavirus. The number has surged, and the authorities will re-mandatory testing of foreign employees and foreign security personnel in these fields.
According to reports, Ismail Sabiri said at a regular press conference that the authorities have also discussed with the Human Resources Department on how to expand the testing of foreign employees in other fields.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Human Resources stated that there are approximately 1.7 million foreign employees in Malaysia. If they are to be tested compulsorily, they must also consider the testing capabilities of the laboratory and who will bear the testing costs.
Ismail Sabiri said that since the government implemented the Movement Control Order, it has been mandatory for foreign employees to undergo testing. It was only during the RMCO period that this requirement was relaxed due to the improvement of the pandemic situation.
