January 13th. On the 13th local time, the Chief Cabinet Secretary Kato Katsunobu of Japan said at a government press conference that Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga had a telephone conversation with Microsoft founder Bill Gates on the 12th.

It clearly stated that the Tokyo Olympics “must be held.”

According to a report from the Japan Jiji News Agency on the 12th, Yoshihide Suga and Bill Gates held a telephone meeting on the same day.

In addition to exchanging opinions on Coronavirus pandemic policy, Yoshihide Suga once again expressed his determination to host the Tokyo Olympics, saying that “it must be held.” However, Kato said on the 13th that the news was disclosed to the media by the president of Suntory Holdings Co., Ltd., Sina Koshi, who also participated in the telephone conference.

Yoshihide Suga himself did not use the expression “must be held”.

In response to the global spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, there have been recent comments that the Tokyo Olympics may be postponed again or stopped.

In response, Kato Katsunobu responded: “The game schedule and venue have been determined, and the relevant personnel are working hard to deal with it.

I hope that we can make good preparations for the pandemic.”
