According to India Today, the fifth round of serum antibody tests for the novel coronavirus in the capital New Delhi region in January showed that on average, one in two people in the capital New Delhi tested positive, indicating that they had been infected with the virus.

The survey was reportedly conducted from January 10 to 23, and investigators collected a total of 28,000 samples in 280 areas of the capital. Preliminary results show that 60% of the people tested are currently positive for serum antibodies.

There are about 20 million people in New Delhi, which means at least 10 million people have been infected with the novel coronavirus, according to the website of India Today.

The first round of serum antibody tests conducted by the National Centers for Disease Control and the New Delhi Municipal Government from June 27 to July 10, showed a 23.48% positive test for COVID-19 antibodies.

Since then, three rounds of testing have been conducted in August, September and October, with results of 29.1%, 25.1% and 25.5%, respectively.

Unlike nucleic acid testing, which is designed to confirm whether the human body is infected with COVID-19 at the time of testing, the main function of antibody testing is to confirm whether the person tested has been infected with the virus.

According to the latest epidemic data released by the Ministry of Health of India on the 25th, in the past 24 hours, there have been 185 new confirmed cases in New Delhi, with a total of 633,924 confirmed cases.

There are 13,203 new confirmed cases in India, and more than 10.66 million cases have been confirmed so far.
