February 27 French Prime Minister Castell called for strengthening the law enforcement of COVID-19 prevention and control on the 27th local time to curb the worsening of the pandemic.

The public transport management department of the Paris region said it planned to cut public transportation capacity from next week.

On the same day, Caste gathered the governors and heads of the health departments of 20 provinces with severe pandemic to discuss the pandemic response.

The meeting was held by video, and also attended by French Interior Minister Dalmanen and Health Minister Villin. Castel called for strengthening the law enforcement of pandemic prevention to ensure that the current pandemic prevention control measures can be fully implemented.

Castell said he hoped to take further regional control measures to avoid a nationwide “lockdown”. He called on the governors of 20 provinces with severe pandemic to work with local officials to implement the official pandemic prevention strategy.

French public opinion pointed out that Castel’s relevant statement is aimed at warning people who do not comply with the control measures, and the police will intensify their crackdown.

The meeting on the same day also coordinated the future response to the pandemic.

If the pandemic situation in these 20 provinces continues to deteriorate, further control measures may be taken against the relevant areas from March 6, such as the weekend “lockdown”.

The public transport management department of the Paris region said on the 27th that it planned to cut public transport capacity from next week to cope with the nearly halving of passenger traffic since the end of last year.

It is initially planned that most subway and suburban train lines in Paris will be reduced by 10% compared with usual. Organizations like unions worry that cutting capacity may have difficulty in ensuring social distancing for passengers while putting workers at risk.

The latest statistics show that the spread of the novel coronavirus in the Paris region has accelerated again.

The R0 value of the local basic infection number has continued to rise in recent weeks, and has now risen to more than 1, reaching 1.04.

When the R0 value remains below 1, the pandemic is stable; conversely, it indicates that the pandemic has not slowed down.

According to the official pandemic data, France added 23,996 new confirmed cases on the 27th, with a total of 373,616 confirmed cases, and the cumulative number of deaths is now 86,332, and 185 new deaths.
