According to the Brexit agreement, all products exported from the European Union to Northern Ireland do not need to be inspected.

However, the European Union believes that since Northern Ireland is the backdoor of the British market, it may be used by the UK as a channel to evade export controls.

The initiative was described as an “incredibly hostile act” by the EU, led by the Northern Ireland Democratic Union Party, Arlene Foster
