The Egyptian Air Force and Special Forces arrived at the Malwa Air Base in Sudan on the 14th and held a joint air military exercise code-named “Nile Eagle 1” with the Sudanese Air Force.

A spokesman for the Egyptian Armed Forces said in a statement that the exercise will continue until November 26. This is the first joint military exercise between Egypt and Sudan’s two neighbors.

The exercise will first start with the learning and exchange of professional knowledge. The practical operations include joint combat operations, offensive and defensive flights around the target, combat search and rescue activities, etc.

The spokesperson said that the exercise aims to strengthen the joint air operations capabilities of the two countries and is part of the military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
