Ebola response team began to vaccinate against Ebola in Butembo, North Kivu province, the Democratic Republic of the Congo on February 15. This batch of Ebola vaccines is mainly aimed at close and indirect contacts of confirmed cases.
According to the North Kivu Ministry of Health, more than 300 contacts have been registered and vaccination has begun in a hospital in Butembo.
Since February 7, four confirmed cases of Ebola have been found in North Kivu, two of which have died, and two other patients are under quarantine treatment.
In addition to vaccinating contacts, the Ebola response team is carrying out widespread elimination in the areas where confirmed cases pass and continue to track suspected cases.
In addition, according to the North Kivu Ministry of Health, the province has received a monoclonal antibody called mAb114, a drug for Ebola.
The World Health Organization has said that clinical trials of 681 Ebola patients in the Democratic Republic of the Congo have confirmed that monoclonal antibodies have a better effect in reducing mortality.
