The Czech Republic has evacuated a total of 195 people from Kabul, Afghanistan

August 19 2021, Czech Prime Minister Babish announced at a press conference that the evacuation operation in the czech republic ended with the last evacuation plane carrying 62 passengers flying from Afghanistan to Prague, Czech Republic, on the evening of the 18th.

From 16 to 18, the Czech Republic sent three evacuation aircraft, a total of 195 people from Kabul, including Czech diplomats and military personnel, as well as 170 Afghans.

At the same press conference, Czech Foreign Minister Kulhanek said other Afghans working with or associated with the Czechs could withdraw with the help of allies. The Czech government will no longer send evacuation planes.

Czech media reported that Czech troops have been active in Afghanistan since 2002 as part of NATO’s overseas mission. During this period, a total of about 11,500 Czech troops were sent to Afghanistan, where the Total Expenditure of the Czech Ministry of Defence was about CZK 20 billion ($1B).
