The Chief Medical Officer of the Canadian Federation officially recommends the use of three-layer fabric masks

In order to contain the second wave of COVID-19 that is difficult to contain, Canadian Federal Chief Medical Officer

Theresa Tam formally recommended at a press conference on the 3rd local time that people use masks or facial coverings made of at least three layers of fabric.

Dr. Tan said, “In order to improve the protective performance of non-medical masks or face coverings, we recommend considering three-layer non-medical masks.”

Canada’s latest anti-epidemic guidelines indicate that the use of densely woven cotton and linen fabric as the outer material with a layer of non-woven polypropylene as a filter layer in between

Such masks or face coverings can effectively block the spread of the new coronavirus through the respiratory tract. The World Health Organization put forward such guidance as early as June this year, but Canada has not accepted it for a long time.

Until recently, the second wave of Coronavirus pandemic caused a continuous surge in infections, and the Canadian government did not recommend this June guidance to the public.

As of the evening of November 2, local time, the cumulative number of cases of Coronavirus pandemic in Canada has increased to 240,263 and 10,208 deaths.
