The health department in Quebec, Canada, announced on May 2nd local time that the province had found a third case of thrombosis caused by vaccination against AstraZeneca’s Coronavirus vaccine the day before.

According to reports, the female patient is currently being treated in hospital, in stable condition. The statement gave no further information.

Last week, Quebec announced that it had found the first case of thrombosis and death from the AstraZeneca vaccine, a 54-year-old woman named Francine Boyer. It was also the first patient in Canada to die of a blood clot from vaccination.

In informing the situation, the Quebec Department of Health re-emphasized that vaccination resulted in less than one in 100,000 blood clots. Vaccination is still the best way to fight infection with the new coronavirus, which provides much higher protection than risk.
