Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council: Deviate from the one-China principle, no dialogue and exchange can be talked about.

It is reported that when the leaders of the Taiwan authorities held a video dialogue with the United States think tank, on the one hand, they claimed to expect constructive dialogue between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits, and on the other hand, they continued to attack the mainland with the problems of Hong Kong, the South China Sea and Xinjiang.

The Taiwan Mainland Affairs Council also recently said, “I hope that the two sides of the Straits can carry out pragmatic communication without any premise”.

Regarding such a contradictory statement, a spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said at a regular press conference today (16th) that the DPP authorities have stepped up their collusion with external forces to provoke the mainland, which is completely contrary to the so-called “reconciliation” and “dialogue”.

Zhu Fenglianspokesman of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council:

We have pointed out many times that the root cause of the current cross-strait relations tension lies in the refusal of the Democratic Progressive Party authorities to recognize the “1992 Consensus” and unilaterally undermine the common political basis for cross-strait dialogue and consultation. Our policy towards Taiwan is clear and consistent.

Denying the “1992 Consensus” and deviate from the one-China principle, no dialogue and exchange can be talked about.

Recently, the Democratic Progressive Party authorities have talked about cross-strait “reconciliation” and “dialogue”, but in fact, they have intensified the incollusion with external forces to provoke the mainland, disregarded the facts, discourse on Hong Kong, Xinjiang and other issues, maliciously attacked the mainland and created cross-strait antagonism.

Such an act is completely contrary to the so-called “reconciliation” and “dialogue”.
