Swiss police arrested two men in connection with suspected terrorist attack in Vienna

November 4 (Reuters) Swiss authorities said that on the 3rd local time, Swiss police arrested two men near Zurich. The two men may be related to the suspected terrorist attack in Vienna.

According to reports, the Swiss police said in a statement that the two arrested men were 18 and 24 years old, both Swiss citizens. 

They were arrested on the afternoon of the 3rd in Winterthur, a small town not far from Zurich.

On the evening of November 2, local time, a terrorist attack occurred in the center of Vienna, the capital of Austria.

According to previous reports, the terrorist attack in the Austrian capital Vienna has caused more than 20 casualties. On the 3rd, the extremist organization “Islamic State” declared responsibility for the attack. 

Currently, 14 persons related to the attackers in Austria have been detained for questioning, and one suspect was shot dead by the Austrian police.

It is understood that the gunman who was killed was named Kuytim Fezulay, who was born in Modlin, southern Vienna. 

Swiss Attorney General Karin Keller-Sart said that the two men arrested in Switzerland were “apparently” friends of Feizulei.

The Swiss canton of Zurich police stated that the degree of contact between the two arrested persons and the suspect currently needs further clarification and investigation.
