Kyodo News Agency reported on January 31 that surveys by British universities and other countries showed that three mutant coronaviruses found in the United Kingdom, South Africa and Brazil have spread to at least 77 countries and regions around the world.

It is reported that mutant viruses found in the United Kingdom have spread to about 70 countries and regions, mutant viruses found in South Africa have landed in about 30 countries and regions, and mutant viruses from Brazil have been found in 8 countries and regions.

Japan’s National Institute of Infectious Diseases and others revealed that the existing vaccine is said to be effective against the British virus, but it has not been confirmed whether it is effective for the South African and Brazilian viruses.

The opinion of vaccine manufacturers is heating up to be prepared for improvement in the precaution, and British pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca said it has begun to improve the South African virus.
