Spain's national emergency will end on the 9th, the major regions to formulate emergency measures against pandemic prevention

According to a report in Spain’s El Pais newspaper on May 7th, the six-month-old Spanish state of emergency will end from 0:00 local time on May 9th, and according to the Spanish Ministry of Health, after the end of the state of emergency, Spain’s regions need the support of the judiciary to implement curfews and restrictions on the number of people gathered and other preventive measures.

Urgent action is under way in all regions to seek legal support for pandemic prevention measures or to take other control measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

As of 7 local time, only the Balearic region has been approved by the court to restrict the night-time travel of residents, and the maximum number of people gathered below six people, Valencia and Catalonia and other regions are also seeking court support to implement pandemic prevention measures.

Despite widespread fears of chaos after the end of the state of emergency, seven Spanish regions have asked the government to continue to implement strict measures to prevent the disease under the state of emergency, but the Spanish government insists that the regions can take their own measures in accordance with the existing regulations.
