SpaceX is about to launch the last mission in 2020 for NRO.
According to media reports, SpaceX put astronauts into orbit for the first time in 2020, and it witnessed the first explosion of its latest Starship prototype. However, it still plans to complete another launch in 2020.
A Falcon 9 rocket will launch a new spy satellite for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Thursday morning local time.
This confidential national security mission was designated NROL-108, which is the sixth launch of NRO 2020.
Like other NRO launches, this launch also has a somewhat mysterious poster and slogan. From the pictures shared by NRO, you can see that a cartoon gorilla beat himself on the chest, and there is another sentence – “Peace THROUGH STRENGTH”.
NRO tweeted: “Gorillas are peace-loving animals, but they can become fierce when necessary. Like Gorilla, our #NROL108 mission has been on alert and ready to protect itself.”
On November 13th local time, NRO was launched with the Atlas 5 rocket of the United Launch Alliance (ULA), which was based on the mysterious Lord of the Rings, including some sprite scripts.
Current weather forecasts indicate Thursday launch missions will be launched during a three-hour window period from 6am to 9 a.m. Pacific time. Falcon 9’s first-class booster will attempt to land at Cape Canaveral Air Force Base.
