South Korea had 1,030 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 compared with 00:00 the previous day, including 1,002 local cases, and the number of new confirmed cases in a single day exceeded 1,000 for the first time, which was also on January 20 this year.

After the first case in South Korea, the maximum one-day after 11 months exceeded the peak of the first wave of pandemic (909 cases).

According to the report, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in South Korea is 42,766.
