January 22nd local time, the South Korean Ministry of Defense delivered construction equipment and equipment for facility renovation to the THAAD base in Singju County, North Gyeongsang Province.

Local residents sat down at the entrance of the THAAD base to protest in an attempt to prevent 32 transport vehicles from entering.

The police then dispatched more than 600 police forces to forcibly disperse the protesters, causing one resident to be slightly injured and sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Relevant people from the South Korean Ministry of Defense said that the construction materials needed to transform the living facilities of officers and soldiers were delivered to the base this time, which had nothing to do with the improvement of the THAAD system.

South Korea’s Ministry of Defense tried to deliver construction materials to the THAAD base on November 27 last year, but failed because of protests from local residents. ( General Station Reporter Zhang Wei Photo provided by Xingzhou County Residents)
