South Korean poll: More than 50% of South Koreans oppose the pardon of Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye

According to Korean Radio International, the results of the poll released on the 8th show that more than half of South Korean citizens oppose the pardon of Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye, two former presidents.

Gallup, South Korea, conducted a poll on May 7th to pardon Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye, targeting 1,001 people over the country. The results showed that 37% of all respondents answered that they should be pardoned during the current government, 54% opposed the pardon, and 9% Reservations.

In terms of age, 69% of people over 60 years old are in favor of pardon, while only 37% and 21% of people aged 50-59 and 21%, respectively, are in favor of the case.

Judging from the supporters of various parties, 70% of the supporters of the National Power Party and 63% of the conservatives are in favor of pardon. But 75% of the supporters of the ruling Common Democratic Party and 78% of the progressives oppose the pardon.
