Yonhap News Agency reported that the South Korean Food and Drug Safety Department (Food and Drug Office) said on the 3rd that it would approve the import of Pfizer’s special coronavirus vaccine within this week.

The Korean Disease Control Agency said the day before that according to the results of the expert consultation meeting jointly organized with the Food and Drug Administration, it would apply to the Food and Drug Administration for a special import of Pfizer vaccine.

Jin Sang-feng, director of the Department of Biopharmaceuticals of the Food and Drug Administration, said in a telephone interview with reporters that many consultations have been held with the Office for Disease Control and the approval process is not expected to take too long.
