January 6 According to a report by South Korea Radio International (KBS), on the morning of the 6th local time, the Foreign Affairs Unification Committee of the National Assembly of South Korea held an emergency consultation to discuss the detention of South Korean transport ships by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Choi Jong-kyung-kyung and others, the first official of the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the meeting and reported on the current situation of the crew and the government’s response.

Choi Jong-kyung said that in addition to preparing a legal response, the South Korean government will continue to consult with the Iranian authorities to solve the problem of ship arrest.

The Korean delegation will leave for the local area as soon as the evening of the 6th. Choi Jong-kyeong will also pay a three-day visit to Iran from the 10th.

On the 4th local time, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps seized a Korean-flagged tanker, accusing it of “many violations of laws and regulations related to the marine environment”.
