According to the South Korean “Joongang Ilbo”, the cultural and tourism department of Gyeongju City stated that they arrived at the scene after receiving the report, but the car had already driven away. Gyeongju City also stated that it will strengthen supervision and management to avoid recurrence of similar incidents.

If cultural relics are found to be damaged, they will consider reporting the car owner on the grounds of violating the Cultural Relics Protection Law.
