The Immigration and Checkpoint Bureau of Singapore released entry and exit data for the whole year of 2020.

Affected by travel restrictions during the epidemic, the number of people cleared customs clearance in Singapore in 2020 decreased to 42 million, a decrease of 80.6%, from 217 million the previous year.

Online shopping in Singapore has surged during the pandemic, with low-value air cargo increasing from 10.055 million pieces the year before last year to 21.236 million, an increase of 102.2%.

In addition, the smuggling of prohibited goods decreased by 55.4%, and the customs clearance of freight increased by 3.6%.

The number of illegal immigrants and overdue residents decreased by 49.2%.
