According to the Russian satellite news agency on December 28, the Ministry of Health of Singapore announced that the country will start vaccinated against the novel coronavirus on December 30, first vaccinating medical staff against Pfizer and BioNTech.
Singapore received the first batch of Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine last week after the government approved the use. According to government sources, the vaccine will be vaccinated free of charge.
The Singapore Ministry of Health pointed out that the government accepted the recommendation of the Expert Committee on Vaccination and decided that vaccination can start on Wednesday, which will be carried out in several stages.
People at risk of infection are given priority vaccination, first of all, medical staff, as well as seriously ill patients and the elderly.
It is reported that Singapore will start vaccinating people over 70 years old in February 2021, after which doctors will vaccinate other Singapore residents.
It is estimated that if “no unexpected supply disruptions occur”, Singapore residents across the country will be able to complete vaccination by the end of 2021.
At present, Singapore has confirmed 58,524 coronavirus cases, cured nearly 58,400 cases and 29 deaths.
