Serbian President Vučić held talks with visiting Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov on the 15th.

At a press conference after the talks, Vučić said that the two sides exchanged views on issues of mutual concern during the talks and would abide by their strategic commitment to deepen bilateral relations on the basis of friendship and mutual respect.

Although located in Europe, Serbia will not converge with the European Union to impose sanctions on Russia. At the same time, he stressed that he was proud that Serbia could make its own decisions and implement them.

Lavrov said that Russia supports the balanced policy of Serbian leaders aimed at establishing mutually beneficial relations with all countries concerned, and appreciated Serbia’s military neutrality and its policy of not imposing sanctions on Russia.

He commented that Serbia’s position of military neutrality contributes to peace and stability in the Balkans.
