He said: “It is precisely because of the availability of vaccines that the Olympic Games are possible. He hopes that the popularization of vaccines can be effectively promoted.”
Taro Kono said in an earlier interview with Reuters: “[including the possibility of empty space] We must do our best to prepare for the Olympics, but it is not clear what the result will be.” This statement was thus interpreted by the Western media as the pessimistic judgment of senior Japanese officials on the Olympic Games.
