The Salva crossing on the land border between Saudi Arabia and Qatar officially reopened on the 9th.

According to a report by Saudi State News Agency, on the afternoon of the 9th local time, the first car from Qatar entered Saudi territory.

When passing through the border, in addition to showing passports, the passengers were also measured in accordance with the epidemic prevention and control regulations, and promised to receive coronavirus nucleic acid testing within three days.

In June 2017, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt announced that Qatar had severed diplomatic relations with Qatar and imposed sanctions and blockades, including the closure of their airspace, on the grounds of “supporting terrorism” and “destructing regional security”. Since then, Saudi Arabia has announced that it will excavate the canal in the Shaka border area, but the final plan has not been implemented.

Under the mediation of Kuwait and other countries, Saudi Arabia and Qatar announced on the evening of January 4 that their airspace would resume opening to each other, and the next day they signed the Euler Declaration, which symbolizes the end of Qatar’s severance of diplomatic relations crisis with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt.

In order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus and protect the lives and health of the people, the Saudi Ministry of Health has set up a health and medical center at the Salva port to test the health status of people entering Saudi territory from Qatar.

In addition to land transportation, Qatar Airways has arranged some of its flights through Saudi airspace from the 8th.

Class, but so far, civil aviation flights between Qatar and Saudi Arabia and other four countries that have severed diplomatic relations have not resumed.
