December 16th Sergei Karakayev, the commander of the Russian Strategic Rocket Corps, said in an interview with the Russian media: “The Sarmat’ intercontinental ballistic missile system will be on duty in 2022.”

According to reports, at present, relevant Russian military industrial enterprises are currently preparing for the flight test of the “Salmat” missile system, and the Ujour Missile Corps has now begun preparations for refitting.

The RS-28 Salmat intercontinental ballistic missile is a heavy intercontinental ballistic missile developed by Russia since 2011.

Its total weight is more than 200 tons, it can carry 10 heavy nuclear warheads, and has a maximum range of more than 17,000 kilometers.

Able to fly over the Arctic or Antarctica and attack targets through the anti-missile defense system.
